Summer’s 5 Wardrobe Must Haves

Make it through the heat

Making it through summer while pregnant is hard enough (sweat much?). We’re here to help with the top 5 wardrobe pieces you need to survive the heat and #growinstyle this summer.

Beach Cover Up

Best place to spend the summer while pregnant, or even not pregnant, is at the beach. Enjoy it now ladies because next summer those long naps on the beach will be traded for statements like, “don’t eat that sand!” so a cover up that is beautiful and useful is key. A Supima Cotton Stretch maternity bathing suit cover up that could also be worn as a lightweight layered dress is key. The cotton naturally wicks and keeps you cool just like the perfect beach breeze. Pair with a wide brimmed sun hat and espadrilles for the perfect beach look.

Fitted shorts

A khaki fitted maternity short is the perfect bottom choice because it can be worn desk to dinner without question. Top with a fancy blouse for the office or a trendy tee for mocktails on the roof deck. Showing off your legs not only keeps you cool but helps to elongate your new silhouette. High heels do the same thing but that’s neither here nor there.

Summer Sundress

The less clothes, the better, for those sweaty preggers out there. Opt for a summer featherweight maternity sundress to keep you styled and cool. When walking around the city or out to dinner after a day at the pool, dresses are the best because it keeps things breezy. A sleeveless option is best, one that floats over your pregnant bump. Pair with a straw handbag or clutch and lace up sandal for comfortability.

Cold Shoulder Tank

Cold shoulders are the hottest trend right now and its perfect for those pregnant women among us. I mean it’s called a cold shoulder for summer’s sake! Shoulders are one area of the body that rarely changes while pregnant so it’s the perfect body part to show off for those who are self-conscious. Try a maternity tank with a drop shoulder in Supima Cotton Stretch so your skin can breathe. Pair with a safe, summer tan and a hint of shimmer in a body moisturizer as an accessory.

White Bottoms

White is the perfect summer neutral (for beyond the summer season, too). Do it right in a stretch denim maternity skirt or any type of maternity bottom to highlight bright, fun hues on top covering your pregnant belly. When choosing your white bottoms, make sure the material is thick enough not to see through and always choose nude undergarments. Use it like a blank canvas when pairing accessories and have fun!

Summer won’t last forever, neither will your pregnancy. So take advantage of the summer-ready pregnancy wardrobe while you can and give everyone bump envy while you grow in style.
